Every fifteen minutes a child is born with mitochondrial disease or will develop one by age five.

Supporting "Writers at the Beach" not only contributes to a unique literary event that brings nationally-known writers, agents, publishers, editors and songwriters to our community along with over 160 participants from across the US, but it also raises awareness about a devastating and incurable illness. Everyone involved in this event is a volunteer and 100% of our net proceeds are donated to mitochondrial research.
